1 Description American Traveler seeks a Radiation Therapist with an active state license and 2+ years of experience for a hospital radiation oncology department utilizing TrueBeam/Aria technology. Details Hospital-based Radiation Oncology department Full-time day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM No weekends or on-call requirements TrueBeam/Aria experience preferred Uses Aria for electronic medical records Requirements Active state radiation therapist license required if applicable Ohio Department of Health license preferred ARRT registration in Radiation Therapy required Current BLS/CPR certification required Associate's degree in radiography with certification in radiation therapy required; Bachelor's degree preferred Graduate of a JRCERT-approved radiation therapy program Minimum of 2 years of radiation therapy experience required Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to handle multiple priorities and make independent decisions Ability to exert up to 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and transfer/position patients for treatment Additional Information Deliver prescribed courses of radiation therapy using established practices and standards Obtain patient history, explain procedures, and monitor patients for reactions during treatment Schedule patient treatments and coordinate with physicists, physicians, nurses, and social workers Verify prescriptions, diagnoses, and patient identification prior to treatment Prepare treatment rooms and equipment, and safely position and transfer patients including those with catheters, IVs, or other life support devices Perform verification and port film exposures, adjusting therapy as directed by the physician Document treatment plans, progress reports, and evaluation results as required Provide patient education and reinforce care instructions regarding treatment side effects Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary cancer care team Work environment includes potential exposure to electrical equipment
