Job Summary:
Responsible for the provision of radiation therapy simulation and treatments to cancer patients in Radiation Oncology. Documents required Radiation oncology simulation, and treatment information in hospital and Radiation EMR. Explains treatment procedure to the patient as it is performed communicating in a clear, concise voice; answers patient's and family's questions and defers those not within his/her competence to the Radiation oncologist. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION
Bachelor of Science Degree from an ARRT Certified Radiation Therapy program, or in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 5 years of previous Radiation Therapist experience, required.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION
Certified as a RT (T) Radiation Therapist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required within 90 days of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
