  • Position Overview
  • The Mammography Technologist performs a variety of technical duties related to screening and diagnostic mammography procedures. Working closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals, you will operate specialized imaging equipment, provide compassionate patient care, and help support accurate diagnoses through high-quality imaging services.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • + Perform screening and diagnostic mammography procedures and general diagnostic imaging exams.
+ Produce high-quality images using digital, fluoroscopic, portable, and fixed imaging equipment. + Ensure proper patient identification, positioning, comfort, and safety throughout procedures. + Follow radiation safety standards and maintain compliance with California, federal, and departmental regulations. + Accurately document procedures within electronic medical record and imaging systems. + Assist physicians with imaging support, contrast administration, and sterile procedures as appropriate. + Transport and assist patients while maintaining exceptional customer service standards. + Participate in quality improvement initiatives and equipment maintenance activities. + Maintain HIPAA compliance and all applicable regulatory standards. + Train and support students and newly hired technologists as assigned.
  • Required Knowledge & Skills
  • + Knowledge of radiologic science, mammography, and diagnostic imaging procedures.
+ Understanding of radiation safety practices, California Title 17 regulations, patient positioning, body mechanics, and infection control standards. + Ability to perform venipuncture and CPR. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. + Strong customer service orientation and ability to work with diverse patient populations. + Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and maintain clinical competency.
  • Minimum Qualifications
  • + Current State License or certification required for practice in California.
+ Current Mammographic Radiologic Technology Certification issued by the California Department of Public Health. + ARRT Certification required. + California Radiologic Technologist (CRT) Certification required. + Fluoroscopy Permit preferred. + Current BLS/CPR Certification. + One year of Mammography Technologist experience preferred. + Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements. + Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Preferred Experience
  • + Two (2) years of full-time diagnostic imaging experience. + At least six (6) months of Mammography experience in an acute care hospital setting. + Experience working in a fast-paced imaging department. + Strong knowledge of breast imaging protocols and patient care standards.
