80027 Communicates effectively in writing and verbally with physicians, imaging personnel, students, and hospital staff to ensure continuity of care. Performs IV starts and administers contrast as required. Provides on-call coverage outside of standard hours as per department and facility policy. Inputs charges and required data for procedures and supplies used during exams. Completes necessary hospital and medical imaging paperwork for each exam performed. Maintains technical operation of equipment, notifies service when necessary, and logs service calls or problems per department procedure. Maintains a clean work area for employees and patients, ensuring quality checks and equipment maintenance documentation. Performs imaging procedures while ensuring safety, adhering to radiation safety regulations to minimize exposure. Produces quality images accurately and promptly. Prepares patients for exams by providing information and instructions, and addressing their physical and emotional needs. Assists and positions patients during exams, observing and documenting any unusual occurrences. Performs other duties as assigned.
