Job Description

Wellstar is seeking a Radiologic Technologist (PRN) to perform diagnostic imaging exams in a patient-centered, collaborative environment. You will operate radiographic equipment, position patients safely, and follow radiation safety standards while working closely with physicians and nurses. Responsibilities include verifying orders, maintaining accurate records, ensuring image quality, and supporting efficient patient flow. Responsibilities Perform high-quality diagnostic radiographic exams according to physician orders and protocols Position and prepare patients while ensuring comfort, safety, and radiation protection (ALARA) Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain radiologic equipment and imaging rooms Verify patient identity, review orders, and document exams accurately in PACS/EMRCollaborate with radiologists, nurses, and care teams to support timely diagnosis and treatment Follow infection control, safety, and regulatory standards in all imaging procedures Assist with contrast procedures as allowed by policy and training Support efficient patient flow, exam scheduling, and room turnaround Provide clear instructions and compassionate communication to patients and families Participate in ongoing education, competencies, and quality improvement initiatives Required Skills Diagnostic radiography Patient positioning Radiology equipment operation Radiation safety and ALARA practices PACS and EMR documentation Infection control Anatomy and physiology knowledge IV contrast preparation/assistance Basic life support (BLS) Regulatory and safety compliance
