POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of a Radiologist, administers ionizing radiation to pat ients producing diagnostic radiographs at technical level requiring no constant supervision of technical detail. The technologist will perform a variety of procedures that will require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative. The individual must be able to meet the needs of patients of all ages physically, socially, emotionally, and culturally.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT
Graduate of an accredited Radiology program. Current A.R.R.T. and I.D.N.S. license or board eligible and with a temporary IEMA license. If working with a temporary license, the A.R.R.T Boards exam must be passed within two (2) years of graduating and accredited radiology program. Responsible for acquiring 24 hours of continuing education hours every 2 years. Previous experience not required. Specialized Technologist. Mammography-Certification by A.R.R.T or meet MQSA technologist requirements. CAT Scan-Certification by A.R.R.T. or specialized training-in-house or applications to personnel provided by vendor.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
The ideal candidate must be able to work and complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. Prolonged periods standing, reaching and bending. Medium Lifting, generally lifting not more than 50 lbs. maximum with assistance Physical strength and agility to position patients for a variety of diagnostic examinations. Reasonably antici pat ed occu pat ional exposure to blood, blood-borne pat hogens, and other potentially infectious materials. Visual and hearing acuity with/without corrective devices. Job may require potential exposure to chemical/hazardous materials. Requires potential for exposure to an environmental hazard of radiation. Knowledge of abuse/neglect. Requires of performance of highly complex and various tasks during emergency situations requiring independent knowledge and judgment. Equal Opportunity Employer.
