About this
Opportunity:
We're looking for a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our growing team. This position combines traditional veterinary technician responsibilities with a strong emphasis on surgery and anesthesia. The ideal candidate enjoys the variety of general practice while also taking pride in providing exceptional surgical patient care.
  • Starting pay rate for this position will be determined based on existing experience and skills in the field
Our Clinic & Team:
Lincoln County Animal Hospital is a family owned and operated full-service animal hospital in the Troy area. We take great pride in this unique feature and intend to keep it this way as the legacy of the practice continues to develop. LCAH is a small animal exclusive practice that offers a variety of top-notch services including: Wellness & routine care Diagnosis & treatment Dental & surgical procedures In-house diagnostics & radiology Pharmacy Services Hospital hours:
Monday:
7:30am-6:00pm
Tuesday:
7:30am-5:00pm
Wednesday:
7:30am-5:00pm
Thursday:
7:30am-5:00pm
Friday:
7:30am-6:00pm
Saturday:
7:30am-1:00pm
  • closed the first and third Saturday of each month
  • Weekly schedule rotates between three full weekdays and a Saturday followed by four full weekdays (repeating)
  • Saturday shifts are approx.
every 6-7 weeks.
Job Roles & Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarians during appointments and treatments Collect blood samples, place IV catheters, and perform laboratory testing Administer medications and treatments as directed Educate clients on medications, procedures, and home care Prepare patients for surgery and dental procedures Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia Assist the veterinarian during surgical procedures Sterilize instruments and maintain surgical packs Provide post-operative nursing care Maintain accurate medical records Work collaboratively with the veterinary team to provide outstanding patient care

Has strong technical and patient care skills Enjoys both surgery and general practice Is organized, dependable, and detail-oriented Can multitask in a fast-paced environment Communicates well with clients and coworkers Values teamwork and compassionate patient care
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of veterinary technician experience Previous anesthesia and surgical experience required
