Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Radiology Technician to join our healthcare team. This vital role involves performing diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients across a variety of clinical settings, including emergency rooms, trauma centers, and specialized radiology departments. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of medical imaging modalities, radiation safety protocols, and patient care standards. Responsibilities Operate a wide range of radiologic imaging equipment, including X-ray, CT (Computed Tomography), fluoroscopy, mammography, DEXA scans, PET (Positron Emission Tomography), nuclear medicine, and interventional radiology procedures. Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, ensuring comfort, and implementing aseptic techniques when necessary. Position patients accurately to obtain optimal images while adhering to radiation safety procedures and minimizing exposure. Assist in diagnostic evaluations by capturing high-quality images for interpretation by radiologists. Maintain detailed documentation of procedures performed and ensure proper storage of images in accordance with hospital protocols. Monitor patient vital signs during procedures requiring sedation or contrast agents, especially in emergency room or trauma center settings. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in urgent care, emergency medicine, and trauma centers to deliver prompt and accurate imaging services. Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards and implement protocols to protect patients and staff from unnecessary exposure. Stay current with advancements in radiologic technology and participate in ongoing training related to new imaging modalities such as interventional radiography or specialized scans. Assist with quality control checks on imaging equipment and report any malfunctions promptly. Requirements Certification as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT certification preferred) with valid licensure where applicable. Proven experience operating diagnostic radiology equipment including X-ray, CT, fluoroscopy, mammography, DEXA scans, PET scans, nuclear medicine devices, and interventional radiology tools. Prior experience working in urgent care settings or Level I/II trauma centers highly desirable. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic radiology principles. Familiarity with radiation safety procedures and implementing radiation protection protocols. Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient care. Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration. Ability to work effectively under pressure in fast-paced environments such as emergency rooms or trauma units. Knowledge of aseptic techniques for invasive procedures involving interventional radiography or nuclear medicine.
