Job Description

Okeene Municipal Hospital and Medical Clinic is seeking a dependable, patient-focused Radiology & Diagnostic Technician to join our PRN team. This role provides vital coverage for our department and offers great clinical variety, combining standard radiographic imaging with essential diagnostic testing services (EKG, Holter monitoring, and sleep study setups) in a supportive community hospital environment.
What You'll Do:
Perform high-quality diagnostic radiographic exams following department protocols and ALARA principles. Prepare and administer contrast media within your accepted scope of practice. Conduct essential diagnostic tests, including 12-lead EKGs, Holter/event monitor setups, and patient education for home sleep study equipment. Assist with scheduling for Radiology, MRI, US, EKG, Sleep Studies, and Holter Monitors during your shift. Verify provider orders, assess patient histories, screen for contraindications, and ensure accurate documentation in
PACS/RIS.
Maintain a clean, compliant work environment, including keeping daily/weekly equipment QA logs.
Qualifications:
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent, and a current BLS CPR certification.
Preferred:
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Preferred:
Current ARRT (R) certification (or eligibility within 6 months of hire).
Experience:
1 year of experience in general radiography is preferred.
Key Skills:
Proficiency with PACS/RIS, strong patient communication skills across all age groups, and the ability to work independently during call shifts.
Work Schedule & Call Requirements:
Status:
PRN (As-Needed / Variable Shifts).
Call:
Rotating evening, weekend, and holiday call coverage is required. Must have reliable transportation and meet department emergency response-time limits when on call.
Physical Requirements:
Frequent standing, walking, and positioning/moving patients. Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull objects and equipment weighing 25-50 lbs. Comfortable wearing PPE and strictly adhering to radiation safety and infection control policies.
