Interventional Radiology Technologist

Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Tech) to join our diagnostic and interventional imaging team. In this role, you will assist physicians during complex interventional procedures, ensure high-quality imaging, and uphold strict radiation safety and sterile techniques. Paid Time Off Available Key Responsibilities Procedural Support:
Assist physicians in performing interventional and special procedures using fluoroscopy and advanced imaging modalities under sterile conditions.
Patient Care:
Prepare patients, explain procedures, verify consent, and perform pre-/post-procedure monitoring, including catheter removal and hemostasis protocols.
Image Quality & Safety:
Maintain high-quality diagnostic imaging while enforcing strict radiation safety (ALARA) and proper PPE usage.
Equipment & Inventory:
Operate, clean, and maintain specialized imaging equipment; assist with inventory management for catheters, wires, and procedural kits.
Team Collaboration:
Assist with workflow coordination, staff education, and
PACS/EHR
procedural documentation.
Qualifications Required:
Education/Certification:
ARRT certification in Radiography (R)
Licensure:
State Radiologic Technologist license (or eligible)
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years as a
Radiologic Technologist Preferred:
Experience:
2+ years of specialized experience in Interventional Radiology (IR) or
Ambulatory Surgery Certifications:
ARRT Vascular-Interventional Radiography (VI) certification, ACLS, or PALS Skills & Competencies Proficiency with PACS and Electronic Health Records (EHR) Strong understanding of infection control and sterile field management Ability to prioritize effectively in high-acuity or emergent situations Excellent communication and patient care skills
