X-Ray Tech Needed Tuesday, Thursday, Friday AM Job Summary:
An X-ray Technician operates imaging equipment to produce X-ray films (radiographs) of patients' bodies. These images help physicians diagnose and monitor medical conditions. The role involves working closely with patients, ensuring their comfort and safety during the procedure, and maintaining high-quality imaging standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Interaction:
Greet patients and explain the X-ray procedure to them to ensure they understand and feel comfortable. Position patients correctly on the X-ray table or in front of the X-ray machine for accurate imaging. Provide clear instructions to patients during the imaging process, such as holding their breath or remaining still.
Operating Imaging Equipment:
Set up and operate X-ray machines, ensuring proper positioning and calibration for clear, accurate images. Adjust equipment to capture images based on physician requests or diagnostic needs. Ensure the safety of patients by using protective equipment (such as lead aprons) to minimize radiation exposure.
Quality Control:
Review images to ensure they are clear and diagnostic. Re-take images if necessary. Maintain accurate and complete patient records related to imaging procedures, including the type of X-ray performed and results.
Radiation Safety:
Follow safety protocols to limit radiation exposure to patients, healthcare workers, and themselves. Ensure all safety regulations and guidelines are followed in all procedures.
Patient Care:
Assist patients with mobility issues or those in pain, making adjustments for comfort and safety. Be compassionate and maintain a calm, reassuring environment for patients during procedures.
Collaboration:
Work with physicians, and other healthcare professionals to discuss and assess images. Communicate effectively with patients and the medical team regarding imaging results and follow-up procedures.
Equipment Maintenance:
Regularly check equipment for functionality, cleanliness, and safety. Report any malfunctioning equipment or issues to the supervisor for timely repairs. Administrative Duties Paperwork relating to obtaining patient information,
