Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning and implementing engaging activities for residents in a nursing home or assisted living facility.
• Provide social support and companionship to residents, fostering a sense of community and well-being.
• Help residents manage their schedules and coordinate participation in various recreational and therapeutic programs.
• Assist with organizing and facilitating events, outings, and special programs for residents.
• Provide support to residents with dementia or memory care needs, including engaging in memory-enhancing activities.
• Collaborate with the activity director and other staff members to ensure a comprehensive and person-centered approach to resident care.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in social work, nursing home, or senior care settings is preferred.
• Knowledge of aging issues, dementia care, and recreational therapy is highly desirable.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules and coordinate activities effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with residents, families, and staff members.
• Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with older adults who may have physical or cognitive limitations.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and priorities.
