Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Director to lead engaging and meaningful programs within our senior living community. In this vital role, you will design, coordinate, and implement a variety of recreational activities that promote socialization, mental stimulation, physical well-being, and overall quality of life for residents. Your enthusiasm and creativity will foster a vibrant community atmosphere, ensuring residents feel valued, connected, and supported every day. Responsibilities Develop and plan diverse activity programs tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and care needs, including memory care and dementia-specific activities Coordinate resident events such as outings, celebrations, fitness classes, arts and crafts, and social gatherings to enhance community engagement Build strong rapport with residents by understanding their preferences and encouraging participation in activities Collaborate with care teams to integrate therapeutic recreational therapies that support residents' physical and mental health Manage scheduling of activities efficiently to ensure consistent delivery and maximum participation Maintain detailed records of resident participation, progress, and feedback to continually improve program offerings Lead a team of activity staff or volunteers, providing guidance, training, and motivation to deliver high-quality programming Qualifications Proven experience in event planning within assisted living facilities or nursing homes; experience in senior care or geriatrics is highly preferred Strong background in recreational therapy, memory care, Alzheimer's/dementia care, or long-term care environments Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect effectively with seniors and their families Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for scheduling, documentation, and communication purposes Demonstrated ability to develop engaging programs that cater to diverse needs of geriatric patients and individuals with disabilities Experience working with residents requiring assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as mobility or personal care tasks Leadership skills to coordinate staff efforts and foster teamwork within the activity department Knowledge of aging issues counseling and social work principles related to senior living communities Join us as an Activities Director where your passion for enriching seniors' lives will shine through every program you create. Pay:
$55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
