Overview Join our dedicated team as an Activities Director and become a vital part of enriching the lives of our residents through engaging, meaningful programs. In this dynamic role, you will design, coordinate, and lead a variety of recreational activities tailored to the needs and interests of seniors, including those with memory care challenges such as Alzheimer's and dementia. Responsibilities Develop and implement diverse activity programs that promote social engagement, cognitive health, and physical activity for residents with varying needs. Coordinate special events, outings, and therapeutic activities aligned with residents' interests and abilities. Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, and caregivers to ensure activities support individual care plans, including Alzheimer's and dementia care strategies. Manage scheduling of daily activities to ensure consistency while allowing flexibility for residents' preferences. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed during programs to promote independence and participation. Monitor resident responses to activities, adjusting plans to maximize engagement and safety. Maintain detailed records of participation, resident feedback, and activity outcomes to support ongoing program development. Qualifications Proven experience in event planning, recreational therapy, or senior activity programming within assisted living or nursing home environments. Strong background in Alzheimer's care, dementia care, geriatrics, or long-term care settings. Knowledge of memory care techniques and working with individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments. Excellent communication skills to engage residents effectively and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Experience in program development tailored to aging issues counseling, social work principles, or home & community care is highly desirable. Ability to assist residents with ADLs and adapt activities for varying levels of mobility and cognitive function. Strong organizational skills for schedule management and event coordination.
