Windhorse Integrative Mental Health in Northampton, MA has an opportunity for a grounded person to live and work with someone seeking recovery and well-being in a unique team atmosphere. We are looking for a Therapeutic Housemate to live with an individual experiencing significant emotional distress (i.e. depression, schizophrenia, trauma, etc.) who needs support and caring interaction during their recovery process. Each household (located in downtown Northampton) is fully assisted by a clinical team rooted in mindfulness and compassion that meets daily with the same individual. Experience in the mental health field is not required. Having a personal contemplative discipline (i.e. meditation, yoga, etc.) is supportive to this job. We are looking for a mature, responsible person. Good house holding skills are necessary. No drugs or alcohol. Experience in shared living situations is preferred. Benefits include free rent and utilities, a weekly stipend of $375 based on an average of spending three hours/day with the individual and attending a few meetings throughout the week, a $400/month personal food allowance, the freedom to work up to 25 hours per week at another job, and ongoing individual and group training and supervision. Benefits also include one week of paid leave every six months and two paid days off per month. We ask for a minimum of a six-month commitment.
