Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Activities Director to lead engaging and meaningful programs within our senior living community. This vital role involves designing, coordinating, and executing a diverse range of recreational activities tailored to residents' interests and needs. The Activities Director fosters a lively, inclusive environment that promotes socialization, mental stimulation, and overall well-being for residents, especially those with memory care needs such as Alzheimer's and dementia. Duties Develop and implement a comprehensive activity calendar that includes social events, recreational therapy sessions, arts and crafts, outings, and special celebrations aligned with residents' preferences and abilities Coordinate resident events that promote community engagement, joy, and participation while ensuring safety and accessibility standards are met Build strong rapport with residents through personalized interaction, understanding individual histories, preferences, and care requirements Collaborate with caregiving staff to assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) when needed and support their emotional well-being Manage schedule logistics for activities staff and volunteers to ensure seamless program delivery Maintain detailed records of resident participation, feedback, and progress to tailor future activities effectively Communicate regularly with families and team members about residents' engagement levels and activity plans to foster transparency and involvement Qualifications Proven experience in event planning within assisted living or long-term care settings, especially in senior or memory care environments Strong background in recreational therapy, geriatrics, or social work related to working with seniors or individuals with disabilities Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease, dementia care, and aging issues counseling to adapt activities appropriately Excellent communication skills for engaging residents, families, and team members effectively Demonstrated ability to lead a team of activity staff or volunteers with enthusiasm and professionalism Experience developing programs that enhance resident rapport building while promoting independence and socialization Must have a National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) or currently be enrolled in a program Join us in creating vibrant communities where seniors thrive through engaging activities that inspire joy, connection, and purpose!
Pay:
$23.39 - $28.17 per hour
