Job Description

Overview We are seeking a caring, dependable, and motivated Part-Time Activity Coordinator to join our assisted living team. This position works under the direction of the Activity Director to support the daily activity program and provide engaging experiences that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social well-being of our residents. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who demonstrates patience, creativity, and genuine compassion for older adults. This individual will help create a welcoming and inclusive environment for residents with a variety of needs, including those living with dementia, other cognitive impairments, and mental/physical health conditions. The Part-Time Activity Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing residents' quality of life through creative engagement and dedicated support. Responsibilities Assist the Activity Director in implementing the daily activity program. Facilitate (including set-up and tear-down) a variety of engaging activities tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and needs, including social events, recreational outings, and therapeutic programs. Follow and ensure the timely execution of scheduled activities. Build strong rapport with residents by understanding their preferences and encouraging participation in community events. Manage activity supplies, equipment, and materials efficiently while maintaining safety and cleanliness standards within activity spaces. Assist with resident transportation for outings or special events as needed, ensuring safety and comfort at all times. Maintain accurate documentation of resident participation and feedback to continually improve program offerings. Foster a positive team environment by collaborating with caregiving staff to integrate activities into daily routines effectively. Qualifications Prior experience in event planning, recreational therapy, or senior care within assisted living or nursing home settings is highly preferred. Strong communication skills essential for building resident relationships with team members and families. Digital proficiency for scheduling, documentation, and communication purposes. Excellent organizational skills. Energetic and able to actively participate in resident activities throughout the day. Reliable with a strong commitment to attendance, follow-through, and teamwork. Ability to work occasional weekends to support resident programming and special events. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required Valid driver's license (transportation of residents or community outings) Ability to pass a background check Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift activity supplies, and assist with setting up and cleaning up activities Flexible availability, including occasional weekends as needed Join us in creating an enriching environment where seniors can thrive through engaging activities designed to foster joy, connection, and independence!
Pay:
$14.50 - $15.50 per hour
