Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and creative Activities Director to join our assisted living and memory care community. The Activities Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading engaging recreational, social, educational, and wellness programs that enhance the quality of life for our residents. The ideal candidate enjoys working with seniors, is highly organized, and is passionate about creating meaningful experiences that promote physical, emotional, and social well-being. Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and implement a monthly activity calendar for residents. Lead group activities, games, crafts, exercise classes, music, holiday celebrations, and community events. Encourage resident participation while accommodating varying abilities and interests. Organize outings and special events as appropriate. Maintain activity supplies and equipment. Decorate common areas for holidays and seasonal events. Work closely with residents, families, and staff to develop engaging programming. Maintain documentation of resident participation and activity records. Ensure activities comply with facility policies and applicable regulations. Foster a welcoming, positive, and inclusive environment for all residents. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Previous experience in activities, recreation, senior living, healthcare, or a related field preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Creative, dependable, and organized. Ability to lead both group and one-on-one activities. Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve the lives of older adults. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and remain active throughout the workday. Position may require weekends and/or evenings depending on activities and scheduled events. Need to be PCA certified with certification obtained within 90 days of hire. Must complete a state approved basic activities course within nine months of hire.
