Bartlesville Assisted Living is looking to hire an activity director to assist our residents with daily life enrichment! Position is located in Bartlesville, OK This person would be responsible for daily activities and special events within the community. This person will also be required to keep up with documentation requirements for resident activities, monthly activity calendars, holiday events, social media management/posting and occasional family communications. Compassion and love for working with the senior population is a must!

POSITION SUMMARY
1. Provide a wide range of activities to enhance the lives of residents. To provide opportunities for residents and staff to interact on a social basis and to provide stimulation to all residents on a daily basis. Directs and implements communication via the Activity calendar, bulletin board and social media to staff, family and residents. Acts as an advocate for residents and as a liason between family and residents to provide communication between them.
POSITION RELATIONSHIPS
Activity Director reports to the Administrator Activity Director provides supervision during all activities to staff in regard to gathering residents for activities, implementing the activities and requesting assistance with transfers for activities. Supervision will be provided to any activity assistant that is providing help to the director during these activities. The Activity Director works cooperatively with all staff and residents of the facility. May be required to work and communicate with families, suppliers, vendors and consultants as well.
POSITION RESPONSIBILTIES
Activity Director is responsible for providing a wide range of activities to enhance the lives of residents and provide opportunities for residents and staff to interact on a social basis. 2. The Activity Director is responsible for planning activities and scheduling them with the input of the Director and/or Administrator. The Activities Director will create and maintain an activities calendar and a daily board within visual for family/staff/residents 5. The Activities Director will meet with each new resident within 3 to 5 days of move in to perform an activity assessment to determine the resident's interests and abilities. 6. The Activities Director will be responsible for the community bulletin board located in an area frequented by the residents 7. The Activities Director will schedule craft opportunities for the residents to be donated for special causes or for the personal desire of a resident. 8. The Activities Director will be responsible for the clean up after craft projects. 9 The following activities are unique to this position: A. Transporting residents to special outside activities and to resident doctor visits. B. Decorating (with assistance of support staff) the facility for holidays. C. May arrange for entertainment by outside contractors. Arrange for outside volunteers to come into the facility to provide entertainment for the residents. D. Performing related duties as required or designated. E. Providing one-on-one stimulation/activity for residents. F. Provide music for resident enjoyment. G. Event planning for special occasions and holidays. H. Documentation as required by the guidelines for Advantage Assisted Living Waiver.
EDUCATION
The activities person must have the ability to read, speak, write and follow oral and written directions. High school education preferred. Must be at least 25 years of age.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
: It is expected that the activities person will have had experience either at home or at other institutions in creating activities for elderly residents. Must be 25 years of age and prefer to have a high school education.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Mainly inside work. Must have a valid driving license with no driving points. Subject to assist in other areas of the facility with non direct care when necessary.
