Description Seeking qualified candidate for Senior Center Meals and Activities Coordinator. This is a part-time position, working Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 9:00am- 2:00pm (5 hours worked per day alternate work schedule may include a 30 minute unpaid break). Applicant must be positive, personable, very organized and motivated.
Duties include:
Plan and instruct health, nutrition, and other education for adults 60 and over.
Work together with the centers' board of directors to plan activities which promote the senior center as a focal point in the community, for seniors to attend and participate in a plethora of activities, while preserving the upbeat and positive atmosphere in the center.
Oversee and coordinate the compliant operation of the meal program.
Complete Needs Assessment Tool in software system with Senior Center participants
Oversee meal order submission into software system
Documentation of quality and temperatures of food deliveries
Maintain appropriate temperatures of food at all times
Oversee meal service and clean up after service
Heat entrees, cook vegetables and pasta
Assure meal service volunteers abide by health and safety requirements (hair nets, gloves, handwashing)
Kitchen area, pots, pans, and utensils are cleaned and sanitized appropriately after use.
Recruit and train meal service volunteers
Maintain ServSafe certification Minimum qualifications: Experience organizing group activities (preferably involving older persons); very proficient with computer as a means of communicating and compiling data and reports. Experience in commercial food service and ServSafe certification preferred. Candidates must be over 18 years of age. Criminal background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol test required.
