The ideal candidate would be responsible for the life enrichment operations of the community to ensure resident's programming and activities needs are met. This individual will also ensure residents are treated with dignity and respect and ensures they are being engaged in appropriate activities as outlined in their personal service plan. Essential functions and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: The ability to plan and implement a monthly activity calendar for all aspects of the community. The ability to understand the needs of the residents. The ability to multitask and change programs if the needs of the residents require it. Ability to assist in MOD (Manager on Duty) rotation. Ability to participate in or lead meetings relevant to life enrichment issues, such as Service Plan meetings, involving appropriate parties as needed. Ability to provide training, supervision, and monitoring of associates in the administration of planned and unplanned activities with the residents. Ability to provide dementia training and education to resident care associates on an ongoing basis with classroom in-services and situation specific training when needed. Ability to perform ongoing assessment/observation of residents' physical and cognitive needs and coordinate with the Wellness Director to ensure personal service plans are updated and accurate.
Education and Experience:
Three to six months related experience preferred and/or similar training. Knowledge of senior living, Alzheimer's or a related dementia preferred.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
This is a physically demanding job that could or does require standing, moving, reaching, lifting, stretching, bending and carrying things throughout the day. Position requires providing activities of daily living assistance to seniors and requires lifting and transferring of residents as appropriate. Must be able to lift, push and/or pull 50 lbs.
