Our Events and Programs Coordinator is a full-time leadership and gym development position. This position is integral to maintaining and improving the quality and quantity of events that Sportrock is known for. The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for creating incredible climbing experiences for all ability levels, an aptitude for sales, and the ability to effectively manage small teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Organize 1 massive community event each quarter with over 300 participants. Examples are competitions, open houses, and other similar events.
Organize 1 small-scale community event each month with the capacity to host at least 50 participants. Examples include film screenings, member nights, and other similar events.
Organize at least 3 micro-activations each week with between 5-20+ participants (this does not include affinity meetups or clubs that also happen at competing gyms). Examples that have already been implemented include Board Game Nights and Ping Pong Nights. There will be a ramp of three months to achieve this frequency of micro-activations.
Schedule, and ensure smooth operations, for all non-youth programs in the gym. Including, but not limited to, Intro to Climbing, Climbing Techniques, Break the Plateau, Climbing Clinics, Yoga and Fitness Classes
Organize monthly 1:1's with all adult programs instructors
Communicate with the rest of the gym leadership for staffing joint special programs.
Work with gym leadership at other locations to implement programs or events that have found success at other gyms, or share programs/events that have found success at your location.
Be present at all events and most micro-activations and oversee logistics.
Coordinate with marketing to ensure high attendance and participation at all events.
Cultivate an inviting and supportive atmosphere, and become an integral part of our climbing community.
Greet every customer who walks through the doors with eye contact, a smile, and a verbal acknowledgement.
Embrace customer experience as a cornerstone of your role, engaging with visitors in a lively and warm manner.
Actively interact with customers, going the extra mile to make their experiences unforgettable.
Stay up-to-date and informed on facility offerings found on the website, gym-management software, any recent communications, or elsewhere.
Assist with overall operations and maintenance of facility
Assist with interviewing, onboarding, and training of all new employees, staff and managers
Ongoing evaluations and training for all employees - work with Director/AD
Ensure that all Sportrock policies and procedures are upheld and enforced
Assist AD with Events, Clinics, and Programs implementation and administration
Assist with supply ordering
Assist with staff scheduling - assist Director as needed
Effectively manage risk in an indoor climbing environment.
Uphold the gyms rules, procedures, and policies.
Ability to manage your time clock appropriately
Other duties as required
Qualifications:
1-2 years leadership and management experience preferred
Customer service experience
Effective time management skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Extremely self-motivated and able to exceed high expectations and standards
Strong project management skills
Strong time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Rock climbing experience or willingness to learn

$45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
