Job Description

Community Care is hiring an Recreation Specialist to join our team. This position is a Full-Time position at our Waukesha location.
Recreation Specialist Job Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the designated site specific Manager or Supervisor and as a member of the Community Care inter-disciplinary team they are responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating age-appropriate, therapeutic recreational activities for all members including those with cognitive, developmental and physical disabilities. Provides direction and support to Recreation Assistants and other staff members as appropriate.
Recreation Specialist Job Requirements Education:
Bachelors in Recreational Therapy or other related field or Associates in
Occupational Therapy Experience:
A minimum of 1 year of personal, Clinical/internship and/or employment experience providing care or services for a frail or elderly population required. 1-2 years developing and implementing programming for individuals with intellectual disabilities, frail elders, or physically disabled. Dementia programming experience preferred. Recreation Specialist Schedule Between 8:00 AM - 4:30PM About Community Care Community Care is a local nonprofit with more than 40 years of experience helping older adults and adults with disabilities live as independently as possible within the community.
