1 Description American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Oncology RN for a night shift inpatient position requiring 2 years of acute care experience and a CO or compact RN license. Details Inpatient oncology unit within a 36-bed hospital setting Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), various days of the week Weekend shifts required per unit needs Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 (day) and 1:5 (night), with flexibility based on staffing needs No on-call requirements Floating required within scope, including to sister facilities based on facility needs Epic charting system used Navy scrubs required Requirements Active RN license (CO or Compact) currently in hand BLS certification required Minimum 2 years acute care experience required Trauma Level II hospital experience required Prior experience in environments with flexible staffing ratios required Oncology certification (OCN/ONS/ONCC) preferred but not required Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) preferred Skilled in IV therapy, port access/management, and central line care Experience managing oncologic emergencies (e.g., tumor lysis syndrome, sepsis, anaphylaxis) Experience administering chemotherapy (oral, IV push, continuous infusion) preferred Familiarity with psychosocial and symptom management care for oncology patients Wound care, phlebotomy, and PPE/neutropenic precautions experience preferred Additional Information Provide direct patient care to inpatient oncology population, including chemotherapy administration and symptom management Monitor for and respond to oncologic emergencies and abnormal lab values Support patients with psychosocial needs, including advanced directives and hospice care Administer medications including antiemetics, antibiotics, and antitumor agents Perform procedures such as chest tube care, colostomy/ileostomy management, and Foley catheter insertion Complete all facility-specific onboarding modules within the first week of assignment Maximum of 10 RTO days permitted per 13-week contract, with blackout periods enforced during high-need timeframes No blocked scheduling requests permitted Local candidates accepted, with reduced bill rate for those residing within 75 miles of the facility First-time travelers are welcome to apply Previous UCHealth employees may be subject to eligibility restrictions
