Job Description

Camp Nurse (Monday-Friday, Day Shift Only) August 17-21, 2026 Indian Family Network Camp held at

Camp Somerset, Somerset, Maine Position Summary:

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Camp Nurses to provide high-quality healthcare to campers, couselors and adult volunteers in a fun, supportive camp environment. This role is ideal for a nurse who enjoys working with children and values a predictable daytime schedule with no overnight responsibilities. The Camp Nurse will work with the support of an on-site physician, if needed.

Schedule:

Monday through Friday 10 or 12 -hour daytime shifts No nights or overnight on-call duties

Key Responsibilities:

Provide daily medical care to campers and staff, including first aid, illness assessment, and medication administration Manage and maintain health records, medication logs, and incident reports Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate care with the on-site physician and local healthcare providers as needed Collaborate with the on-site physician regarding medical care, treatment plans, and health concerns Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and camp policies Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding camper health concerns as appropriate Promote a healthy camp environment through education and preventative care

Qualifications:

Active RN license Experience in pediatrics, school nursing, or camp settings preferred Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills Ability to work independently while collaborating with medical support staff

Compensation & Benefits:

Work Environment:

This is an on-site position in an outdoor camp setting. Candidates should be comfortable working in a dynamic environment and adapting to the needs of campers and other camp personnel.
