Job Description
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience working in the healthcare environment
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and an ability to present self in a courteous, tactful and professional manner.
Considerate, attentive and punctual
Ability to read, interpret, and follow State and Federal rules regarding the administration of all authorized medical procedures. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of laws for the State of Michigan and Federal governments in regard to handling of medications, medical safety procedures, and any other related function of the position. Possess skills and ability to work independently in solving problems, planning and organizing tasks, creating efficiencies, and maintaining positive relationships with all stakeholders of the District. Special Requirements needed for this position:
Ability to work variable and non-traditional work hours (if needed); including evenings and weekends on occasion
Ability to answer and place calls to parents of positive students or of students identified as close contacts
Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality at all times
Job Duties:
Oversee district MERT Teams
Annually confirm team members
Review roles and expectations with team
Ensure all members current with CPR/First Aid/AED training
Assist and oversee distribution of meds to students
Paper tracking of immunizations
EpiPen expiration certification
Arrange for in-service and/or staff training on CPR, first aid, AED (as needed)
Render nursing/first aid services to students as needed and directed
Promote and maintain the health of students through teaching and encouraging healthy habits
Work with administration on development and implementation of the following:
Immunization policies and follow-up of students not in compliance of state immunization regulations
Communicable disease policies and procedures
Reports to: Superintendent
Terms of Employment
Part-time; school year only, breaks off
Hours:
10am-4pm
Background check and fingerprinting (specific to Michigan Public School employment) required
Hired and paid through Edustaff

Job Requirements
At least 3 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
Associate degree preferred.
Citizenship, residency or work visa required
