  • Part-time, PRN Work in a serene setting nestled on the Edisto River in Jacksonboro, SC (just across the Charleston County line, 20 minutes outside West Ashley).
Hammocks on the Edisto is a Joint Commission accredited, unique 15-bed residential treatment facility, and a premier provider of addiction services for women from around the country. Job Summary A Hammocks nurse provides excellent and compassionate care to women in a 24 hour substance use residential facility. The Nurse is responsible for ensuring patient safety and quality care throughout their treatment stay, in accordance with facility policies and procedures, federal and SC state laws and regulations, and The Joint Commission accreditation standards. You will work closely with medical providers, clinical therapists, recovery associates and other highly qualified staff in providing a one-of-a-kind treatment experience for those seeking help with their addictions. We currently have Full and Part-time positions available. Qualifications:
1. RN in good standing with the State of South Carolina; possesses a current, unrestricted RN license. 2. The desire and ability to maintain pleasant working relationships is a priority; detail oriented with good organizational skills; ability to work independently; reliability; readily takes initiative; understands and values the importance of good communication, willingness to learn. 3. Previous experience with electronic medical records preferred. 4. BLS required. 5. Prior experience in behavioral health/substance use disorder treatment preferred. Knowledge of addiction and co-occurring disorders desired, with a willingness to continue learning. 6. The nurse in this role is passionate about making a positive impact on the world and being an integral part of our mission of treating women struggling with substance abuse and mental health issues.
Performance Expectations:
Nursing Duties
  • General 1.
Assessment of patients' medical and mental health. 2. Proper and safe medication administration. 2. Implementing medical provider orders. 3. Specimen collection and preparation for shipment to lab. 4. Verifying accuracy of medications received from the pharmacy. 5. Completing other tasks within the scope of nurse practice and the program services and procedures. 6. Documenting patient observations and activities accurately and timely, in accordance with nursing standards and organizational policy and procedures. 7. Actively and compassionately interacting with patients to encourage engagement in treatment. 8. Functioning as a role model to patients, fellow nurses and other staff members, creating a welcoming and compassionate environment to all. 9. Provide direction during emergency procedures (actual and simulated) Admissions Responsibilities 1. Oversees all aspects of the patient admission process that pertain to Nursing or facility needs. 2. Obtain initial Nursing Assessment data and health history within required time frames. 3. Monitor patients through a safe transition to residential level of care (from acute detox, or managing symptoms/condition that did not require a medical detox). 4. Monitor for ongoing withdrawal symptoms in newly admitted patients
