One California Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Trauma Registrar, you will accurately abstract and enter data from patient records into the Trauma Patient Registry. Your meticulous work ensures a consistent and reliable trauma database, vital for program evaluation. Every day you will abstract data from complex patient records, applying AIS and ICD-10 injury coding for accurate entry. You'll work closely with the Trauma Registry Supervisor and Trauma Program Manager, ensuring database integrity and quality. To be successful, you will be self-motivated, with meticulous attention to detail and high accuracy. Strong proficiency in AIS and ICD-10 coding, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to data quality are essential. Performs abstracting data, data entry, and other microcomputer tasks as needed to maintain the Trauma Registry. Responsible for gathering information for preparation of reports for presentations as needed by Trauma Services. Provides support for the trauma office in areas of special reports or assistance in other duties and special projects, as assigned by the Medical Director, Trauma Program Manager, or QI Coordinator. Is accountable for accurate preparation of statistical reports for Medical Director, Trauma Program Manager, or QI Coordinator. Prepares and attends presentations or reports for committee meetings within the facility and county. Reviews and updates daily trauma log. Identifies all reportable cases for inclusion in the registry. Crosschecks with other systems to assure capture of all trauma patients. Job Requirements Required High School Graduate, upon hire or Experience with abstracting, entering,analyzing and maintaining TraumaRegistry database in compliance withstate regulations and certificationrequirements. Experience using traumascaling and scoring tools. Abstractingdata from electronic medical records One year of experience as a Trauma Registrar (
