Full-Time Medical Secretary Norwood Urgent Care 1030 Providence Highway, East Walpole, MA 02032 Are you looking to start or grow your career in healthcare? Whether you're entering the workforce for the first time or have years of experience, Norwood Urgent Care is looking for motivated, customer-focused Medical Secretaries to join our team. As one of the busiest urgent care centers in the region, you'll work alongside experienced healthcare professionals in a fast-paced environment while making a meaningful impact on the patient experience. Hours of Operation Monday-Friday:
8:00 AM - 7:00
PM Saturday-Sunday:
8:00 AM - 4:00 PM This position consists of 11-hour weekday shifts with every other weekend required . Example Rotating Schedule Week 1 Monday, Wednesday, Friday Saturday & Sunday Week 2 Tuesday, Thursday Weekend Off Week 3 Monday, Wednesday, Friday Saturday & Sunday Week 4 Tuesday, Thursday Weekend Off This schedule provides predictable hours and built-in work/life balance. Position Summary The Medical Secretary is often the first person our patients meet. In this role, you'll help create a welcoming experience while managing front-office operations that keep our clinics running efficiently. Successful candidates are friendly, organized, dependable, and enjoy working in a fast-paced healthcare environment. No medical office experience is required. We will teach you everything you need to succeed. Responsibilities Welcome patients and visitors in a professional, friendly manner Register patients and verify demographic and insurance information Answer and direct incoming phone calls Schedule appointments when appropriate Maintain accurate patient records within our electronic medical record (EMR) and practice management systems Collect co-pays and process payments Assist patients by answering general questions and providing clear information Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations Support providers and clinical staff with administrative tasks Maintain a clean, organized front office, including light housekeeping duties Monitor and replenish office supplies Work collaboratively with the clinical and administrative team to provide outstanding patient care Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Excellent customer service and communication skills Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Comfortable using computers and learning new software Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented Previous customer service, receptionist, retail, hospitality, or medical office experience is a plus—but not required Work Environment Fully on-site position Fast-paced urgent care setting Frequent interaction with patients, providers, and staff Standing, walking, and light lifting may be required throughout the shift Join Our Team At Norwood Urgent Care, we're committed to providing exceptional patient care while creating a positive workplace where employees can learn, grow, and build rewarding careers in healthcare.
