Description:
Patient Service Representative We are seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Patient Service Representative to support the front-office operations of a busy healthcare environment. This individual will serve as a key point of contact for patients and will be responsible for registration, scheduling, insurance verification, payment collection, and providing an excellent patient experience from check-in through check-out. Key Responsibilities Greet and register patients while providing information about their visit and upcoming appointments. Schedule patient appointments both in person and over the phone. Prepare patient intake forms prior to appointments to ensure timely and efficient service. Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits to determine coverage for services. Obtain necessary insurance authorizations and manage payer approvals. Collect co-pays and other patient payments at the time of service. Educate patients regarding their financial responsibility and expected payments. Communicate regularly with attorney offices, insurance companies, translation companies, operational leaders, and business development teams. Follow established procedures to securely process, track, and reconcile payments received. Effectively communicate with patients, insurance companies, and internal teams to resolve questions or concerns. Meet established quality assurance and customer service goals. Maintain accurate patient information and documentation. Maintain a clean, organized, professional, and safe work environment. Skills customer service oriented Top Skills Details customer service oriented Additional Skills & Qualifications Additional Skills & Qualifications Patient-centered mindset: Strong customer service skills Proven ability to work with and navigate a computer desktop efficiently (microsoft office) Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounts receivable principles including basic math skills Proficient in the use of all necessary office equipment, faxes, copiers, etc. Fluent typing skills (minimum 40 words per minute) and proficiency with Windows based office technologies (ex. Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) Experience Level Expert Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wells, ME. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
