2 About the Role Chenhall Staffing is hiring two Medical Support Assistants to join the front-office/administrative team at the Jicarilla Service Unit, an IHS facility. This is a non-clinical, administrative role — you won't be providing medical care, but you'll be the first point of contact for patients and a key part of keeping the clinic running smoothly across departments including Nursing, Patient Registration, Health Information Management, Pharmacy, and Dental. What You'll Do Greet patients and visitors; check patients in and verify demographics/insurance Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments; confirm appointments by phone daily Answer phones, take messages, route calls, and document patient communications Enter and update patient records in electronic health record systems Support vaccination clinics with registration and documentation Handle general office tasks: filing, scanning/faxing, mail, and helping patients complete forms Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information What We're Looking For High school diploma or GED Strong communication and phone/call-center skills (patience, active listening, composure) Comfortable with computers and electronic records systems Organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple tasks Customer-service mindset — you'll be interacting with patients all day Administrative experience preferred Prior healthcare or medical office experience a plus (not required) Basic medical terminology helpful but not required Good to Know Before You Apply This position requires a federal background investigation (fingerprinting and clearance through OPM's eQIP system) before you can start You must be able to work onsite full-time in Dulce, NM Some vaccination documentation requirements apply depending on role/duties Benefits 2 weeks of paid time off after one year of service 11 paid federal holidays Weekly, consistent schedule — no nights, weekends, or on-call
