About Engler Family Health Nurse Practitioner, PLLC Engler, FNP is a patient-centered weight management practice committed to providing compassionate, personalized, and accessible healthcare to our community. We are seeking a dependable, professional, and compassionate Medical Office Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, friendly, and comfortable working in a fast-paced medical office. This position requires someone who can work independently while also being a supportive and reliable member of the healthcare team. Position Summary The Medical Office Assistant will support both the administrative and clinical operations of the practice. The MOA will serve as an important point of contact for patients and will help ensure that the office operates efficiently while providing a positive patient experience. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, professionalism, confidentiality, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and take initiative. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Patient Care & Clinical Support Greet patients in a professional, friendly, and compassionate manner. Check patients in and out for appointments. Obtain and document vital signs as trained and authorized. Room patients and prepare them for provider visits. Obtain and update medication and allergy information. Assist with obtaining and documenting patient histories as directed. Prepare examination rooms before and between patients. Clean, organize, and restock clinical areas. Assist the provider with office procedures as trained and directed. Assist with maintaining accurate patient documentation in the electronic health record (EHR). Front Office & Administrative Responsibilities Answer incoming telephone calls and respond to patient inquiries professionally. Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments. Manage patient portal messages and appropriately route clinical questions to the provider. Verify patient demographics and insurance information. Collect copayments, balances, and other patient payments. Assist with insurance verification and authorization processes. Process and route prescription refill requests according to office policy. Request and track outside medical records. Process incoming and outgoing faxes. Scan and upload medical records and other documents into the EHR. Prepare charts and patient information for upcoming appointments. Follow up on laboratory, imaging, referral, and other outstanding orders as directed. Assist with forms, letters, and other patient documentation. Maintain accurate and organized electronic and paper records. Assist with billing and coding-related administrative tasks as needed. Monitor and maintain office supplies and notify management when supplies need to be reordered. Office Operations Maintain a clean, organized, and professional office environment. Follow opening and closing procedures. Assist with inventory management. Follow infection-control and safety procedures. Protect patient privacy and maintain HIPAA compliance at all times. Follow all Engler, FNP policies and procedures. Assist with other duties necessary for the efficient operation of the practice. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Previous healthcare, medical office, customer service, or administrative experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements. Strong attention to detail. Professional and compassionate bedside manner. Ability to work effectively with patients of varying ages and backgrounds. Ability to work independently and as part of a small healthcare team. Basic computer proficiency. Ability to learn and utilize electronic health record systems and other office technology. Preferred Previous experience as a Medical Office Assistant, Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, or similar healthcare position. Experience with an electronic health record (EHR). Experience with insurance verification, referrals, prior authorizations, or medical records. Medical terminology knowledge. CPR/BLS certification. Medical Assistant certification is a plus.

The schedule may include:
Monday-Friday:
7:00-4:00, 1 hour lunch Occasional schedule adjustments may be necessary based on patient volume and practice needs.
Compensation Pay Range:
$20-22 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and responsibilities. Compensation will be discussed during the interview process and will be based on the candidate's experience and skill level.
