As the largest provider of licensed outpatient behavioral health services and one of the largest human services agencies in Westchester County, WJCS serves more than 20,000 individuals each year through over 80 innovative programs. Our services support people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities, providing compassionate, high-quality care and resources. We are currently seeking a full-time Admitting Specialist to join our team in either Peekskill or Hartsdale - the location is flexible. The Admitting Specialist plays a crucial role in facilitating the smooth intake and referral process for individuals and agencies seeking mental health services at WJCS. The compensation for this 35 hours per week position is $52,500. Responsibilities As a valued member of our team, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Process intakes and referrals, and schedule initial intake appointments for prospective clients and/or agencies. Verify and obtain benefits and pre-certification information from insurance companies. Register insurance and pre-certification details for new clients in the electronic health records system. Enter and adjust on-going authorizations, co-pay, and deductible information for established clients. Troubleshoot issues related to insurance authorization, recertification, and coordination of benefits. Requirements We are seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications: An Associate's or a Bachelor's Degree in a health-related field is preferred, however an applicant with experience and a High School Diploma will be considered. Prior office experience, preferably in a managed care or healthcare setting, along with strong computer skills. Solid understanding of administrative processes with mental health or health care settings. Excellent attention to detail and strong data entry skills. Proficient knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid billing policies. Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus!
