Job Description

Overview Join our friendly, patient-focused Ophthalmology practice! We are looking for a dependable, compassionate team member to join our Gearhart office as a Part-Time Front Desk Representative. In this role, your energy and dedication will directly enhance patient experiences and streamline clinic operations. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks with precision. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, supporting healthcare professionals and patients alike through effective communication, accurate documentation, and efficient office management. This job is most Fridays and 1-2 Thursdays/month 7:15am-5:15pm. We occasionally will work other days (Wednesdays/Saturdays). Responsibilities Greet patients warmly upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming and professional front desk environment. Verify patient insurance coverage. Schedule appointments accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Collect and review patient documentation, including consent forms, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Support clinic operations through clerical tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing). Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth intake processes and coordinate care plans while adhering to office management protocols. Cleaning of office (floors and bathroom) each day Skills Knowledge of medical administrative support functions including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and referrals. Proficiency in EMR systems or experience with EHR management is highly desirable. Familiarity with medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), medical billing practices, and Medicare guidelines to ensure accurate documentation review and reimbursement processes. Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities in bilingual settings preferred. Knowledge of health insurance policies, clinical confidentiality policies, and HIPAA compliance standards to safeguard patient information. Competency in computer skills for administrative tasks. Ability to handle high-volume patient interactions efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and office management duties. Pay:
