Do you enjoy helping patients while supporting and developing a strong team? We're looking for a Patient Access Team Lead to help keep our clinic running smoothly while ensuring every patient receives a welcoming, professional experience from the moment they arrive. As the Patient Access Team Lead, you'll provide day-to-day support and leadership for the Patient Access team, helping ensure schedules, registration processes, training, and patient service standards are consistently met.
Your responsibilities will include:
Assist with daily department scheduling and the monthly preparation of staff schedules. Support department operations and help resolve day-to-day issues. Assist with developing and preparing training and educational materials for Patient Access staff. Participate in the orientation and on-the-job training of new employees and registration staff who need additional support to meet performance standards. Perform patient registration and access functions using computer systems, printers, copiers, fax machines, calculators, directories, and departmental reference materials. Collect and verify patient demographic, insurance, and limited medical information. Obtain required patient signatures for consents and authorizations. Protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality in accordance with hospital policies and applicable regulations. Print and distribute registration documents according to hospital policy. Provide patients, families, and visitors with assistance, information, and directions. Collect payments and process patient account transactions. Contact insurance companies and physician offices to obtain certification and/or authorization for inpatient or observation admissions. Communicate effectively and professionally with insurance companies, physician offices, patients, families, visitors, and healthcare staff. Help promote a positive, patient-centered experience throughout the registration process. Participate in employee training, orientation, and ongoing staff development. Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Job Description Required:
High School Diploma or
GED. 1-2
years of previous medical or healthcare experience.
