This role is vital in enhancing the client's daily living experience, ensuring their comfort, safety, and overall well-being. The ideal candidate will have patience, understanding, and experience supporting individuals with developmental or physical disabilities, while demonstrating a strong commitment to providing individualized, high-quality care. Responsibilities Assist with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing. Support with mobility, positioning, and safe transfers as needed. Provide assistance during meals, including preparation, feeding support, and encouragement of independence where possible. Offer companionship, emotional support, and engage the client in appropriate activities to promote social interaction and mental well-being. Monitor and document changes in the client's behavior, mood, or physical condition, and report concerns to the supervising nurse or healthcare provider. Administer medication reminders and assist with adherence to prescribed routines. Maintain a clean, safe, and structured environment by performing light housekeeping duties. Collaborate with family members, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to ensure the client's needs are consistently met. Qualifications Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant, Direct Support Professional (DSP), or in a similar role is preferred. Familiarity with supporting individuals with developmental, cognitive, or physical disabilities is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and families. Compassionate, patient, and flexible nature with a genuine desire to help others. Ability to work independently while also being part of a supportive team environment. Basic understanding of care techniques for individuals with special needs is beneficial. CPR or First Aid certification is advantageous but not required at the time of application.
