Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of Respiratory Therapy to lead and elevate our respiratory care services across the organization. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the respiratory therapy department, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care, compliance with regulatory standards, and the integration of innovative respiratory practices. Your leadership will inspire a team of skilled respiratory therapists, foster collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and uphold the highest standards in respiratory health management. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape clinical excellence and improve patient outcomes through strategic oversight and expert guidance. Care settings include Emergency Room, Critical Access Hospital, Nursing Home, and Rural Health Clinic Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the respiratory therapy department, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality patient care. Develop, implement, and monitor clinical protocols related to ventilator management, arterial blood gas (ABG) monitoring, and neonatal resuscitation procedures. Lead staff recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and ongoing professional development to maintain a highly competent team. Collaborate closely with providers, critical care physicians, and other healthcare professionals to optimize respiratory treatment plans. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, safety standards, and hospital policies related to respiratory therapy practices. Oversee equipment operation and maintenance of medical devices used in respiratory care, including ventilators and other advanced respiratory equipment. Serve as the BLS, ACLS, and PALS training coordinator for all staff. Schedule and organize the fit testing program to be carried out by all staff at hire and annually. Manage scheduling of all therapists, including on-call hours. Promote a culture of continuous improvement by analyzing clinical outcomes, implementing best practices in physiology knowledge, anatomy understanding, and pediatric critical & intensive care. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related healthcare field. Valid licensure or certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or equivalent credential. Extensive experience in respiratory therapy within critical care environments such as ICU or Medsurg units. Proven expertise in ventilator management, ABG monitoring, and neonatal resuscitation procedures. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pulmonology, and medical terminology relevant to respiratory health. Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing multidisciplinary teams in high-pressure settings. Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with healthcare teams and educate staff on complex medical equipment operation. Ability to adapt quickly to evolving clinical practices while maintaining a focus on patient safety and quality care. Join us as we advance respiratory health through innovative leadership! Pay:
$114,400.00 - $135,200.00 per year
