Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Speech-Language Pathologist (PRN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will provide expert speech and language therapy services to diverse patient populations, but focus on geriatrics. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations for patients across various age groups, but mostly geriatrics. Develop and implement individualized speech-language therapy plans tailored to each patient's needs and goals. Provide direct therapy sessions using evidence-based techniques, including telehealth options when appropriate. Collaborate closely with families, caregivers, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive care strategies. Monitor patient progress regularly, adjusting therapy approaches as necessary to maximize outcomes. Document all assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries accurately within electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems. Educate patients and their families about communication strategies, physiology of speech mechanisms, and ways to support ongoing progress at home or school. Requirements Valid state of Michigan licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). Experience working with the geriatric populations is highly preferred. Outpatient and skilled nursing rehab experience preferred Demonstrated knowledge of speech therapy techniques for individuals with speech impairments and disabilities. Familiarity with comprehensive speech and language evaluations, including anatomy and physiology of speech production. Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to speech-language pathology and patient care documentation standards. Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated treatment plans. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and patient tracking. Excellent communication skills for parent collaboration and team coordination. Travel between Brighton and Hamburg offices and Commerce clinic as needed.
