Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting elementary students as a contract Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for an FMLA leave assignment. This role runs from August 24, 2026, through December 18, 2026, with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week and is conveniently situated in the Wilmington, NC area, not far from Rocky Point. You'll have the chance to make a significant impact on a manageable caseload of 45-50 students, focusing on articulation and language support, including those who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices. This assignment welcomes applicants holding either SLP-CCC or SLP-CFY credentials who are eager to work in an engaging school environment.
Desired Qualifications:
Active North Carolina Speech-Language Pathology license (CCC or CFY considered) Experience in pediatric settings, preferably with elementary school students Familiarity with AAC and speech/language interventions Ability to work independently while collaborating with teachers, staff, and families Strong teletherapy and documentation skills are an advantage
Core Responsibilities:
Deliver direct therapy for articulation, receptive/expressive language, and AAC users Conduct assessments and develop IEP goals tailored to individual student needs Maintain detailed service logs and participate in IEP meetings Collaborate closely with teachers and caregivers to support overall student progress Balance both in-person and teletherapy sessions as needed This position offers you a meaningful way to contribute to student success in a school-friendly calendar setting.
