In this vital role, you will deliver expert speech and language therapy to children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), helping them unlock their communication potential. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact in pediatric speech-language therapy, utilizing your skills in assessment, treatment planning, and multidisciplinary collaboration. Duties Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations to identify communication strengths and challenges in pediatric populations with autism. Develop and implement individualized speech-language therapy plans tailored to each child's unique needs, focusing on improving expressive and receptive language skills. Deliver engaging therapy sessions via in-person or telehealth platforms, utilizing evidence-based techniques to promote functional communication. Collaborate closely with families, caregivers, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive support strategies and consistent progress. Monitor patient progress regularly, adjusting therapy approaches as needed to optimize outcomes. Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, treatment plans, session notes, and progress reports within electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems. Educate parents and caregivers on strategies to reinforce communication skills at home and in community settings. Skills Proven experience working with children with speech and language impairments, particularly within pediatric populations affected by autism spectrum disorder. Strong knowledge of speech therapy techniques, language development milestones, and physiology related to speech production. Ability to perform comprehensive speech and language assessments and interpret results accurately. Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy knowledge related to the vocal apparatus, and early intervention strategies. Skilled in implementing speech-language therapy plans effectively across diverse settings including schools, clinics, or telehealth environments. Excellent collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams such as occupational therapists, psychologists, educators, and medical professionals. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays; prior school experience is a plus. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems for documentation; knowledge of telehealth therapy delivery is highly desirable. Strong patient care orientation with the ability to connect empathetically with children and their families while maintaining professional standards.
