Principal for School Program and Therapy Director for all other services
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our interdisciplinary team at P.G. Chambers School and Approved Private School for Students with Disabilities. Experience in the areas of Pediatric Feeding Disorders (PFD) and/or Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) strongly preferred.
Scope of Responsibilities:
Administer speech and language therapy services for students in the areas of Pediatric Feeding Disorders, language delays/impairments, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) in alignment with the school's interdisciplinary, family-centered philosophy and following the children's IEPs. Conduct professional assessments to evaluate each child's strengths, needs, and progress. Develop and implement individualized program plans based on assessment results that are aligned with the child's and family's goals. Communicate effectively with families, school staff, interdisciplinary teams, and other involved parties, both verbally and in writing. Providing education as needed in a compassionate and professional manner. Collaborate and coordinate services with the child's family, school, and relevant external agencies to ensure comprehensive care and support. Prepare and maintain accurate written reports for each child, in accordance with departmental and school guidelines, ensuring timely and complete documentation. Engage in ongoing professional growth by attending relevant meetings, conferences, and continuing education opportunities to enhance clinical skills and stay current with best practices. Adapt and fabricate therapy equipment as needed to address the specific needs of each child, ensuring the resources are appropriate and effective. Assist in the physical handling and lifting of children as required within the context of therapy sessions. Services may be provided in the school program, in homes, community settings including local school districts. Perform other duties as assigned by the Therapy Director or Principal.
Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) New Jersey State Department of Education Speech Language Specialist Certification New Jersey State Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist A minimum of two years of related pediatric experience preferred Experience in the area of Pediatric Feeding Disorders strongly preferred Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
