Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Developmental Disabilities / Day Program African Caregivers LLC is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and highly qualified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide individualized speech and communication services to a client with developmental disabilities. This is a part-time/per diem opportunity for an SLP who is passionate about helping individuals improve communication, functional language, social interaction, and overall independence. Services may be provided at the client's day program , subject to coordination and approval with the program. Responsibilities Conduct appropriate speech, language, and communication assessments. Develop and implement individualized treatment goals. Provide one-on-one speech and language therapy. Address receptive and expressive language needs. Support functional communication and social/pragmatic communication skills. Evaluate and support AAC or other communication tools when appropriate. Monitor progress and adjust treatment strategies as needed. Maintain accurate, timely, and professional clinical documentation. Collaborate with the client's family, day-program staff, agency team, and other professionals involved in care. Educate caregivers and staff on strategies that can reinforce communication goals outside of therapy sessions. Participate in consultations and care coordination when appropriate. Follow all applicable professional, agency, state, Medicaid/DDD, confidentiality, and documentation requirements. Qualifications Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited program. Current and unrestricted New Jersey Speech-Language Pathologist license . Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team. Reliable transportation and ability to provide services at the client's day program. Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities is strongly preferred. Experience with autism spectrum disorder, functional communication, AAC, and community-based or day-program settings is preferred. ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence ( CCC-SLP ) is preferred. Schedule Part-time / Per Diem Scheduling will be coordinated based on the client's authorized services, day-program schedule, and therapist availability. We are especially interested in a clinician who can provide consistent ongoing services . Compensation Competitive compensation based on qualifications, experience, service requirements, and approved schedule.
