The West Seneca Central School District has a vacancy for a Speech Language Pathologist - Speech Teacher who holds valid certification in the Speech tenure area. This position is a full-time, probationary appointment effective immediately. The ideal candidate will be entitled to benefits and a salary that is commensurate with experience.
Required Certification:
Speech Pre K-12
Preferences:
Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology. A valid NYS License as an SLP (or working toward a NYS license), Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) and experience in a school setting are preferred but not required. Additionally, we will consider a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
Roles:
Speech teacher working across all levels — K through 12, ensuring educational relevance in general education and special education classrooms. Experience and willingness to work with diverse learners serving a wide range of disorders (speech sound disorders, language, fluency) Ability to evaluate and provide therapy to students with various needs, highlighting language/literacy and culturally competent services Responsibilities may include, but not limited to, working with students in the home/non-public buildings or sites outside the school campus.
Range of responsibilities:
Prevention, assessment, intervention for students with speech-language needs. Participate in CSE meetings and experience with developing and contributing to IEP development. Data collection. Compliance - appropriate teaching certificate and NYS license (or
ASHA CCC
) for Medicaid billing. Ability to collaborate with teachers, parents/guardians, and other school personnel on behalf of students and perform other relevant duties as assigned. Salary and benefits are paid according to the West Seneca Teachers' Association's collective bargaining agreement. The candidate will report to the building Principal and the Directors of Special Education.
