Mercy is seeking a compassionate Speech Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will assess, diagnose, and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders across diverse populations. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care, provide education to families, and document outcomes using EHR systems. Responsibilities Evaluate patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders using standardized tools. Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans across diverse ages and conditions. Document assessments, goals, and progress in the electronic health record in a timely, accurate manner. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and families to coordinate holistic care plans. Provide patient and caregiver education to support carryover of communication and swallowing strategies at home. Participate in case conferences, quality initiatives, and clinical pathways within Healthcare & Medical Services. Supervise or mentor students/assistants as appropriate and support a culture of continuous learning. Contribute to department protocols, outcome tracking, and service improvements. Ensure compliance with regulatory, ethical, and infection-control standards. Engage in ongoing professional development aligned with Mercy's mission of compassionate, innovative care.
