School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Poquoson, Virginia

Job Description

Step into a dynamic SLP assignment delivering high-impact speech and language services to K-12 students across four school sites in a supportive, collaborative environment. This full-time, in-person opportunity is perfect for dedicated clinicians eager to make a lasting difference through direct engagement and teamwork with both students and colleagues. The role is itinerant, offering variety and new experiences each day as you travel between sites near Poquoson, VA. Start your school year strong in August, with a potential orientation or training session scheduled for July 2025 to ensure a smooth transition and set you up for success. Your workday will align with typical school hours, approximately 7:30am-3:00pm, leaving your evenings free.
Qualifications:
Hold a valid SLP, CFY, or SLPA credential with eligibility for school-based practice in Virginia Experience or strong interest in working with students from Kindergarten through 12th grade Ability to function effectively in an itinerant position, adapting to multiple sites and student populations Enthusiasm for collaborating with educators, assistants (SLPA), and other support staff Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills
Key Responsibilities:
Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders among K-12 students Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Consult with teachers, parents, and fellow professionals to promote student progress Supervise and collaborate with SLPA and CFY as assigned Travel between four school sites as part of your daily routine
