Job Description
Category Schools - SLPA Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding school-based contract position as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for the 2026-2027 school year, serving students from kindergarten through 12th grade. This full-time opportunity starts as soon as possible and runs through June 2027. Work a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, clocking 35 to 37.5 hours each week in a supportive educational environment near Norwich, CT. The role may require you to travel between multiple sites, offering valuable experience across a diverse range of student needs and settings. Your role will allow you to collaborate closely with other speech professionals and impact the communication development of students across elementary, middle, and high school levels. Current staffing needs call for 1-2 skilled SLPAs ready to make a difference in K-12 populations.
Qualifications & Experience:
Valid SLPA license or eligibility for relevant certification in Connecticut Previous experience in a K-12 or school-based setting preferred Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills Familiarity with managing caseloads and documentation requirements Comfort working at multiple school sites as needed
Responsibilities:
Deliver speech-language therapy services as prescribed by supervising SLPs Support IEP goals through direct interventions and data collection Participate in team meetings, providing insights and updates on student progress Maintain accurate records and documentation per school and district standards Adapt communication and intervention strategies to support a range of student abilities This is an ideal position for SLPAs interested in gaining valuable experience in dynamic school environments while developing versatile skills.
