Position Summary The Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) provides support to a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in delivering high-quality speech, language, and communication services to children. The SLPA assists in implementing therapy plans, conducting assigned activities, collecting data, and helping maintain a positive and engaging therapeutic environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assist the supervising SLP in implementing individualized treatment plans targeting speech, language, articulation, fluency, voice, pragmatics, and communication goals. Conduct therapy sessions with clients under the direction and supervision of the SLP. Collect, record, and report accurate data on each client's progress during sessions. Support the SLP with screenings and informal assessments (as allowed by state regulations). Prepare therapy materials, visual supports, activities, and communication tools. Document daily session notes according to organizational and insurance guidelines. Follow all treatment protocols, behavior plans, and safety procedures. Maintain regular and professional communication with the SLP, caregivers, and team members. Assist in generalization of skills across natural environments (home, school, clinic, community). Uphold confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and all federal/state requirements. Participate in training, team meetings, and professional development as requested. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Studies, Communication Sciences & Disorders, or related field (based on state requirements). Active SLPA license or certification (if required by state). Experience working with children with speech/language delays, ASD, or developmental disabilities preferred. Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills. Compassionate, patient, and able to follow clinical direction. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus (optional to include depending on your company). Supervision Receives ongoing supervision from a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, following state regulations for direct and indirect supervision. Work Environment May provide services in clinic, school, home, or community settings depending on caseload. Must be able to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams (OT, PT, ABA). Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 25 lbs (therapy materials/equipment). Ability to sit, stand, kneel, or move during play-based sessions.
