Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic educational team as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant•School Based! In this vital role, you'll support licensed speech-language pathologists in delivering high-quality speech and language services to students with diverse needs. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help foster a positive learning environment, enabling children to develop essential communication skills. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work directly with students, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and make a meaningful impact on young lives through evidence-based therapy practices. Responsibilities Provide speech and language therapy to students under the supervision of a licensed SLP. Implement treatment activities and goals established by the supervising SLP. Work with students individually and in small groups. Assist students with articulation, language, fluency, social communication, and other communication needs as directed by the SLP. Collect and document data on student progress during therapy sessions. Maintain accurate therapy notes and records. Prepare therapy materials and activities. Communicate regularly with the supervising SLP regarding student progress and concerns. Collaborate professionally with teachers, special education staff, and other school team members. Follow student IEP goals and treatment recommendations established by the SLP and educational team. Maintain student confidentiality and follow all school, HIPAA, and FERPA requirements. Participate in supervision and training as required. Requirements Associate's or bachelor's degree from an approved Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or equivalent qualifying education. Must meet current Idaho requirements to practice as an SLPA . Experience working with school-age children is preferred. School-based or pediatric speech therapy experience is preferred. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently while following the direction and supervision of the supervising SLP. Reliable, professional, and comfortable working as part of a school-based team. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus but are not required.
