Job Description
Category Schools - SLPA Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in the lives of K-8 students! This is a fantastic opportunity to work full-time as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for the entire school year, supporting learners in a positive and dynamic educational setting near Laurel, MD. You'll collaborate closely with experienced speech-language pathologists and educational teams, helping students reach their communication goals in a nurturing school environment.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Completion of an accredited SLPA program and current SLPA licensure. Previous experience working with children, ideally within a school or pediatric setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to adapt to different grade levels (K-8) and tailor interventions. Familiarity with implementing treatment plans under supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in delivering speech-language therapy to students in individual and small group sessions. Carry out therapy activities as planned and supervised by the lead SLP. Document student progress and maintain accurate records. Participate in IEP meetings as required and provide input regarding student performance. Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student communication success. Help foster a welcoming and supportive classroom environment.
