Job Description
Category Schools - SLPA Job Type Contract Step into an engaging, contract-based opportunity as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant supporting elementary students. This assignment runs from August 31 through June 4, covering a caseload of 50-60 students across two elementary schools. With a schedule totaling 37.5 hours per week, you'll play a key role in helping young learners develop essential communication skills. Your active participation will involve direct speech-language services, collaborating with supervising SLPs and teachers, and maintaining thorough documentation of student progress. This position allows you to leverage your expertise in a rewarding educational environment.
Desired qualifications and skills:
Valid and active SLPA license with current certification number. Experience as an SLPA in a school or similar setting preferred. Familiarity with providing speech-language intervention to elementary-age students. Effective communication and organizational abilities. Ability to collaborate with supervising SLPs, educators, and caregivers. Reliable, self-motivated, and adaptable to different student needs and schedules.
Key responsibilities:
Deliver speech-language therapy under the supervision of a licensed SLP. Support students' communication goals in group and individual settings. Collect data and document sessions thoroughly. Communicate student progress to the interdisciplinary team and families as needed. Assist with adapting materials and activities for targeted speech and language development. Travel between Centerview and Northpoint Elementary as scheduled. This assignment provides exposure to diverse student populations and allows you to strengthen your skills within a supportive team.
